Two years ago, Splitgate appeared on Steam as a new shooter with big hopes and aspirations. Indeed, success didn’t just appear out of thin air. However, two years later, the game has witnessed a massive boost in player count. We’re one step ahead with the question – what about Splitgate Esports?
Splitgate Esports – Massive Potential
Of course, this is a question which is quite early, but one we’re always asking. Here are the following points that can favour Splitgate Esports:
- Similar to Halo – indeed, Halo esports is already established as a low-tier console esport which is rather quiet and unexciting right now. However, this looks to change with Halo Infinite. Yet, the fact that Splitgate is PC and not console right now could help it attract viewers.
- Reviving Quake – one of the oldest esports of all time, Quake is beloved in the PC computer as the classic arena shooter. Splitgate offers similar and more complicated gameplay with a modern day graphical gloss.
- Insane mechanics – portals…..what more do I have to say? Giving the community a classic mechanic to identify with, many could easily dive into viewership for this sole reason.
- High skill ceiling – combining mechanics, fast gameplay and deadshot accuracy, the capacity for competition is higher than ever.
Perhaps after a few months of steady player counts, currently sitting at 200,000, the development team might dive into initiating an esports scene.
