Team Empire win November Six Major in Europe – How did they do it?
Semifinal
Team Empire was slotted in versus Tempra Esports in a best of 3 of the Semifinals. Maps picked were: Villa, Clubhouse, Oregon respectively. Tempra took Villa with an excellent 7-3 scoreline, but unfortunately fell short in the rest of the series as Empire won Clubhouse 7-2 and Oregon 7-1.
Upper Bracket Final
Next up was BDS, which have been showing signs of dominance, in the past few Six Majors. Fortunately for Team Empire, they took down the reigning champs 2-1, dropping them down to the losers bracket. However this was only temporary, as BDS eliminated Virtus.pro from the event, and climbed back up into the Grand Final.
Grand Final
Team Empire were given a default win for not dropping into the losers bracket, which meant that BDS really had to cook things up in order to shake things around in their favor. Unfortunately for them, the series was over way before they could respond to Team Empireβs domination in the server. This resulted in Team Empire dominating their region to win the November Six Major in Europe.
Here is their reaction after their victory:
With BDSβ most recent success, it was probable that they would be rising to the top again; however with a new super star team rising in Empire, matches will never be certain.
