Team Liquid crowned champions CS_Summit 8 – How did they do it?
Team Liquid started it all with a great result in Group B. They beat Bad News Bears and Extremum in the group stage, and this got them to 2nd, qualifying to an upper bracket spot in the playoffs. Here they took down paiN Gaming with a 2-0 scoreline to advance to the upper bracket final. This is where they went into a very hectic best of 3 series with the Brazilian FURIA squad. Fortunately enough Team Liquid managed to close out Nuke with a 22-18 scoreline, and Inferno with a 16-14. With this win, they got into the Grand Finals.
Grand Finals
Meanwhile, FURIA dropped down to the lower bracket, and took down Extremum, to jump back up into the finals. Liquid won the first 2 maps with ease (Overpass 16-7, Nuke 16-11), and FURIA fired back with a 16-14 win on Inferno. However this was all for nothing as Team Liquid immediately got the lead back by winning on Mirage 16-5. Here are the final moments of the last map:
