Team Liquid parting ways with Coach Moses, AdreN to replace

Team Liquid have announced that they are parting ways with their current coach Moses. Here is their announcement:

Team Liquid parting ways with Coach Moses – Why?

In their announcement, Team Liquid avoided disclosing the actual reason behind Moses’ departure. However, if we take a look at Team Liquid’s recent results at tournaments, we’ll come to notice that they weren’t the best. In the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, the team got eliminated, placing 9th-16th, and the same story happened at the 13th Season of ESL Pro League. Before that, the team was doing somewhat well, placing 3rd-4th but no consistency was present.

Here are the team’s best results with Moses on the team:

  • 2nd at IEM XV Global Challenge – 20th December 2020 – $100,000
  • 3rd-4th in IEM XV World Championship – 27th February 2021 – $80,000
  • 4th at BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020 – 23rd January 2021 – $50,000
  • 4th in ESL Pro League Season 12 NA – $27,500

Who will replace him?

According to a report by HLTV, former Team Liquid player and coach Eric “adreN” Hoag is going to take his place. With adreN, the team managed to win loads of events in 2019. They also reached #1 on the HLTV rankings for a long period. Guesses are that Team Liquid’s approach to replicate their results in previous years is to bring back the coach that got them all the success.

In the end, we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. But we can expect a clear statement or announcement from the team real soon.
