Another $100,000 on the line and the Call of Duty League is back in business this weekend, running from the 24th to the 26th of April through the Call of Duty League Chicago Home Series Preview! Read on for our very own preview for the second CDL event since the online switch occurring recently!
The Chicago Home Series marks an essential part of the Call of Duty League calendar for 2020, offering itself as the midpoint for most rosters out of their 9 events throughout the entire season. Apart from that, the top three teams are now, for the first time this year, destined to meet and encounter one another together with the other teams listed below:
Group A
- Atlanta FaZe
- Chicago Huntsmen
- New York Subliners
- London Royal Ravens
Group B
- Dallas Empire
- Los Angeles Guerillas
- Optic Gaming LA
- Seattle Surge
The usual format will ensue, so we’ll start by taking a look at the Groups.
Group A
Group A has the entire competitive community on the edge of their seat – finally, Chicago Huntsmen and FaZe Atlanta have the opportunity to match up with one another. Chicago has only lost to Florida this season, the roster not being at the Home Series has everyone begging for them to match up with FaZe Atlanta in order to figure out who’s on top.
With that being said, one can expect the match between Atlanta and Chicago to shape up the outcome of the event.
Group B
Meanwhile, Group B does favour Dallas Empire, though certain question marks have been placed over the performance, allowing the idea of OGLA making a run more possible. Predictions have Dallas Empire making it to the semis together with either OGLA or Seattle Surge.
For the remainder of the event, there’s only one match on everyone’s mind as I foreshadowed – a grand final between Chicago Huntsmen and FaZe Atlanta. The Chicago Home Series 2020 will likely act as a major reference for the remainder of the season.
With regards to the online format, the production teams has promised an elevated experience from last time to match expectations. Besides that, the Call of Duty League 2020 is looking better than ever!
