Building up to the largest event of the year, The International Prize Pool 2022 is on everyone’s mind. Accordingly, as Valve embraces crowd-funding once again, the race to break records is back – let’s tune in to see how it’s proceeding below!
The International Prize Pool 2022 – Slower Than Previous Years
So, as of writing this article, the prize pool split is as follows:
- Base Prize Pool: $1,600,000
- Contributed Prize Pool: $7,449,465
- Total Prize Pool: $9,049,465
Clearly, $10,000,000 is right around the corner as players continue to purchase the Dota Pro Battle Pass available in game now.
However, while this may appear like a large amount, it’s trailing behind previous years.
Currently, after 3 days, the sales sit behind both The International 2021 and The International 2019. Both had already reached $10,000,000 by now.
Naturally, the end goal for this year is to improve over last year and the years before. Here are the final totals for comparison:
- TI 2021 – $40,018,195
- TI 2019 – $34,330,068
- The International 2018 – $25,532,177
So is there a world where this year fails to break the record? Although the event has always improved every year, the likes of $40,000,000 is definitely a challenge. We can’t wait to see how it all ends.
