Indeed, it’s been a great year for competitive PUBG, with the competitive scene making leaps forward. Accordingly despite the online environment, in-game content and the community have helped propel the scene forward. This year, the PUBG Continental Series was held instead of the PUBG Global Series. However, 2021 holds a new format with new events – starting with the PUBG Global Invitational.S announced for 2021!
Here’s the unveil trailer for the event to kick things off:
The PUBG Global Invitational.S represents a reinvention of 2018’s international event – now with $3.5 million on the line. Accordingly, the ‘S’ stands for a couple of words according to PUBG Corp. These include Survival, new Series format, Supremacy, Showmanship, Showdown and Safety.
The developers are pushing this as the longest global PUBG event in the history of the scene, spanning a grand total of 8 weeks. Across this time, 32 teams invitation from around the world will be fighting right in the heart of the Republic of Korea.
Split into two parts – the Weekly Survival and Weekly Final – the event offers a familiar tournament. However, many details are still to be confirmed, though what is certain is that they’re determined to host an offline event.
We recommend a visit to the original announcement here. We’re excited to see what else 2021 has to offer for competitive PUBG.
