The LPL Summer Split has finally concluded, and TOP Esports come out as Champions after dominating the region in the Summer.
How did they do it?
At the start of the Summer Split, TOP Esports were performing extremely well. At week 5 they were in 1st place with 7 clean wins and no losses, and by then end of the Group stage, they remained in 1st with 13 wins and only 3 losses.
Playoffs
After their incredible run in the group stage, they advanced to the playoffs, directly to the Semifinal due to them ending in 1st place. Their 1st opponent in the semis was Suning, which were reasonably a very good team, which could’ve challenged TOP Esports for the title. However they were too strong, and Suning lost the best of 5 series 3-0. This victory led TOP Esports to the Grand Finals of the LPL Summer 2020.
Grand Finals
In the Grand Finals, TOP Esports faced off the reigning champions of the 2020 Spring Split, JD Gaming. The games went back and forth, however eventually, TOP Esports won the ultimate team fight, and won the final game.
What’s next for the LPL?
The LPL Summer Split may be over, however the Regional Qualifiers are just starting. The Regional Qualifiers are the final stages, to decide which teams are the 3rd and 4th seed to represent the LPL at Worlds 2020.
With all these talented teams competing to be the best, this has been a very intense season for the LPL. TOP Esports have shown that they are back, and are ready to show what they have to offer in the 2020 World Championship.
