Over the past week, there’s been an incredible amount of commotion behind the VCT Masters 3 Berlin Format. As the storm has finally blown over, we’re ready to discuss how community backlash has helped form the format for this upcoming major for competitive VALORANT!
VCT Masters 3 Berlin Format – Playoffs Prioritized
Such a changed happened within hours.
Initially, Riot Games revealed a four-team, single elimination following the initial group stage. While this is great for competition, isolating only the top teams, it doesn’t contribute much to the viewership experience.
After much protest, Riot Games caved in and made the right decision – transitioning to an 8 team single-elimination bracket. Accordingly, this will allow for more and higher stake games to be played and enjoyed later in the event.
While this may be a win for the community, this is also great for Riot Games. Indeed, with everyone content, the excitement for the event is through the roof.
Although some further details need to be shared, the change is through.
Otherwise, we’re excited for the event to kick off on September 9th, right after the play-in determines some final seeds. The best VALORANT teams in the world are going at it!
