With only 4 teams remaining at the VCT Stage 2 Masters Reykjavík we must look onto the upcoming stages of the event. Here’s our final weekend preview:
VCT Stage 2 Masters Reykjavík – Quick recap of what happened
The event kicked off with solid results coming out of Europe and North America. Fnatic beat KRÜ Esports, and Version1 won against Crazy Racoon to advance into the bracket. We then saw an upset from the North American region, winning against both European teams. On the sidelines, we also saw Korea take down Brazil in the Nuturn and Sharks Esports matchup. And we also saw Team Vikings send X10 Esports to the lower bracket.
By the next stage, Crazy Racoon, Sharks Esports, X10 Esports and KRÜ were eliminated from the event. Version1 lost against Nuturn and were sent to the lower bracket against Fnatic. On the top side of the bracket Sentinels won 2-0 versus Team Vikings to get to the upper bracket final against Nuturn.
Fnatic won against V1, and Team Liquid also beat Vikings to reach the 4th round of the lower bracket. This means that Europe will have one team going out for sure, as Fnatic is going up against Team Liquid. Today we saw another dominant performance from the North American Sentinels, as they swiftly took down Nuturn Gaming 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Finals.
