It’s that time of year for competitive Dota 2 for teams that didn’t make it to The International. Indeed, while others compete at the largest esports event in history, some teams are left behind for a chance next year. One such team is Vikin.gg. Accordingly, news has the Vikin.gg Dota 2 Roster being dropped entirely.
Vikin.gg Dota 2 Roster – Breaking Up After 2 Years
This roster from Europe is one which has been the staple of the community for two years now. Indeed, in that time the team has kept, for the most part, the same core team and sticking to swapping fourth and fifth players.
Bearing that in mind, the following Twitter post came out of the blue with no explanation:
Usually, most of the time when changes like this happen it’s for the same reason. Change is needed because results aren’t being achieved. However, check out some of the recent performances for this team:
- ESL One Summer 2021 – 5-6th
- Pinnacle Cup – 3rd
- DreamLeague Season 15 – 1st
- EPIC League Season 3 Division 1 – 1st
Clearly, the issue for qualification for The International with this team was earning enough points at the right time.
Although they had strong performances at lower tier events, struggles at more important events hindered their rankings in the Dota Pro Circuit.
Indeed, the entire staff and players have been set as free agents. We’re curious to see where they land and what roster the organization puts forward next season, if any at all.
