Yesterday, each group across the Main Event kicked off with their very first matches – two matches for each group allowing for 8 games. Take a look at the results in the following concise list with some accompanying comments:
- Cloud9 vs Rogue (0-1) – although fighting through the Play-In, the LCS seed in Cloud9 couldn’t hold back Europe’s Rogue in one of the first games
- 100 Thieves vs EDward Gaming (0-1) – LCS Champions 100Thieves fall early to the LPL champions in the form of EDward Gaming
- Gen.G vs LNG (1-0) – LCK seed Gen.G manage to hold back LNG despite being flawless in the Play-In
- Liquid vs MAD Lions (1-0) – favouring Team Liquid, they managed to take care of business hereover the Europeans
- T1 vs FocusMe (1-0)
- Fnatic vs Hanwha Life Esports (0-1)
- Royal Never Give Up vs PSG Talon (1-0)
- FunPlus Phoenix vs DWG KIA (0-1) – one of the more anticipated matches of the day, DWG KIA once again let everyone know who the reigning champions are
