Worlds 2021 – Where will it be hosted?
Much like last year, the 11th World Championship of League of Legends will take place in Shenzhen, China. Due to the pandemic, the prestigious event in Shanghai did not allow any spectators in the arena, and this is to compensate for last year’s absence. As usual, the event will hold 24 of the best teams in the world, coming from a variety of regions and qualifying through professional leagues.
Prize Pool
At the time of writing, the Prize Pool for Worlds 2021 is $2,225,000 USD. The 1st placing team receives 37.5% of the prize money, 2nd will receive 13.5, 3rd/4th 7%. The remaining placements, will get a lower of the prize pool.
Scheduling
According to Riot Games’ announcement, the World Championship will take place early November on the 6th. While they have decided to disclose this information, they are still yet to finalize certain details about the event.
This year, it’s going to be exciting to see which team will make it till the very end. With major shakeups happening in the rankings of NA, EU as well as China, it will be interesting to see what the region’s best can do against the reigning champions of Korea.
